“Suitcase City investigates how we inhabit and plan a ‘home’ for the contradictory needs and timeline of transiency and stasis”.
The mission of the space is to give an opportunity to people, especially THE ELDER around the age of 80 to make acquaintances. People get emotional attachment to places other than their home. Compared to the youth, the elders are more likely to have lived in a singular place for a long period of time and feel more attached. So I want to create a space for community elders that could let them develop a positive connection to the surrounding environment and feel part of their community.
This mission tends to deal with transiency and stasis because this is a special place that allows the elder to get acquaintances with peers and have time to spend together with them while dining, drinking tea or doing some other activities. In this case, they won’t feel lonely and at the same time increase their social interaction.
